Nicole Sharp, while browsing Facebook photos of her friend’s daughter noticed something was wrong in the picture. The UK pediatrics nurse noticed that the left pupil of her friend’s daughter appeared white, while the right pupil had the normal “red eye” effect from the flash of the camera.
The nurse alerted Grace’s, the 2 year old toddler, mother to the possibility that her baby might have eye cancer. The girl was later on diagnosed with retinoblastoma. Grace lost her sight in the left eye and doctors say she could have died if the cancer metastasized further.
