From a survey of 486 UK healthcare professionals, Randstad Care have combined their key findings into a recent report, found here.
The ‘Assessing the Lack of Senior Opportunities for Women in Nursing’ report shows research around the gender imbalance in the healthcare sector and stats on opportunities for women in this field given the competitive gender pay gap. Statistics and figures included are based upon questions from the survey to report on the dramatic difference in the male and female roles and the graduate and senior positions by gender.
Other key statistical findings include:
- A 14% pay gap stills exists between men and women in nursing
- 89.6% of nurses and midwives are women
- Two thirds of senior positions are occupied by men
