Update: ‘Nurse’ Who Beaten up Baby Remains in Custody, Accused of Attempted Murder
As members of the healthcare field, it is our noble duty to care for everyone be it young or old. But that doesn’t seem to be the case for one midwife in a neonatal ward at Sofiamed Hospital in Bulgaria.
Emiliya Kovacheva is now under arrest and charged with attempted murder for inflicting grievous physical harm to a 4-day-old baby girl named “Nikol”.
Kovacheva was caught on surveillance video of the hospital hitting the neonate with her hands and baby’s glass feeding bottle. The video also showed Kovacheva clutching the neck and shaking the baby.

The incident has left Kovacheva’s colleagues in shock saying the midwife had previously had an impeccable professional record.
“We did not tell each other anything, everyone cried and could not believe this was the person they had worked with,” said Dr. Valeri Netsov, head of the obstetrics and gynaecology ward at Sofiamed.
“She was one of our best midwives; no complaints were filed against it. When she worked the night shift, we knew everything would be done the right way – she is not prone to conflicts, has a sense of humour and is a nice woman,” said Dr. Netsov in a press conference.
It was rumored that the Kovacheva’s exhausting 24-hour shift caused her sudden burst of outrage but this was falsified by Dr. Nestov saying: “Working 24-hour shifts is not a practice at [our] hospital; Emiliya Kovacheva worked one shift after another as she had wished so.”
On the other hand, Dr. Yordan Pelev, manager of the Sofiamed hospital said they will initiate a new countermeasure to prevent this incidence from occurring.
“We will introduce a new kind of video surveillance due to which mothers will be able to watch round-the-clock what happens to their babies through a personal code while they are on the territory of the medical establishment,” he said.
Deputy Health Minister Boyko Penkov briefed reporters on Friday saying the newborn was moved to another hospital and is already in a more stable condition.

Please tell me where i can find this monster so that I can go and beat the crap out of her. This is totally unbelievable. She props a newborn baby’s bottle in its mouth because she is to damn lazy to feed it properly. She doesn’t bother to burp her and wonders why she is crying. She better drop to her knee’s and thank God above that this sweet little girl isn’t my granddaughter… she WOULD NOT make it to court!!!! I don’t care how many hours she had to work!!!! Let’s see this B**** try to hit me like she hit that poor little baby. I would wait until she was begging me to finish her off and then walk away. If you are reading this you stupid, pathetic, poor excuse for a human being… u can find me in Ohio… come on over here and let me show you what it feels to be beat, hit with a baby bottle in the head and shaken by your neck… then I will Freakin hurt you like you hurt this innocent baby you worthless piece if sh**!!!! Rot in hell Bitch!!!!!
I agree with you. I would love to get my hands on this poor excuse for a human being! I am a mother of 4 and have worked several jobs and lost many hours of sleep but NEVER HAVE I EVER HURT A CHILD LET ALONE AN INFANT SMDH.
I’ll help you!! This B!@#$ can make it a one stop cause I’m in Ohio also. That thing called a woman will not make it in jail..What could an infant have done to her.. Does anyone know how the baby is? I pray that sweet baby girl is healthy
Baby health began to improve. There is no danger for his life. The nurse will go to jail.
I will definitely go with you. I want to smack that Bitch face and ring her neck.
You’d have to travel quite a distance. Bulgaria is pretty far from Ohio.
I totally hear you.
No doubt that’s not the first time either.
Can u imagine if that was your baby and u watched this video.
Then can u imagine if u found out the skank was in the next room.
I agree with u send me to jail.
Coz I’ll be damn sure to get my money’s worth out of her.
Even if she had a 24 hour shift, that is no excuse. I have worked in the medical field, have worked 3 jobs back to back for 2 years, and I have triplets that at one point caused a 48 hour stretch with zero sleep when they were sick …. never in all of that have I EVER felt the need to harm a baby!
Is the baby OK? Completely inexcusable!
well… lets just hope she gets whats coming to her.
The baby girl it says was moved to a different hospital n is in stable condition
